On Thursday, November 13, Hudson Valley Magazine honors 31 of the Valley’s brightest women in business during its first annual Women In Business Luncheon.
We asked local businesswoman to tell us about their companies for a chance to win two tickets to our luncheon and networking event. Here’s our winner:
Owner Lynn Oldmixon says: “As a freshman in college, I moved from Brooklyn to Poughkeepsie. I immediately knew that the Hudson Valley [was] home. So much so that in 2002, my best friend and I took a chance and opened up a business in New Paltz, a dream for both of us. We started with no business plan and a lot of heart. We believed in supporting American artists, and started off by featuring our own hand-crocheted garments and the work of a few local friends.
Twelve years later, we have enjoyed continuous expansion, now hosting over 80 American artists from across the country in our gallery. My daughter has even joined in the fun as a partner and has taken on a significant role in guiding the growth of Maglyn’s Dream. We would love to join your luncheon and get to know the other business women who make the Hudson Valley their home.”
Thank you to all of the wonderful local ladies who submitted their stories! We hope to see you on November 13.
