The Valley’s wineries continue to show off the fruits of their labors. At this year’s prestigious San Francisco International Wine Competition, Gardiner’s Whitecliff Vineyard took home the top award for one of its white wines. The competition, which took place this past June, featured close to 4,000 wines from around the globe. Whitecliff’s 2009 Riesling — made with a combination of grapes from the Hudson Valley, Long Island, and the Finger Lakes region — walked away with a Double Gold and Best In Show. Sample Whitecliff’s selections, along with those of many other Valley vineyards, at this year’s Bethel Woods Wine Festival on August 29.
