Model Simone Banos brought the energy and fun to Hudson Valley’s summer fashion photo shoot last week — the perfect attitude for warm-weather fashion. She kept the whole team laughing, and her poses were fantastic. At times she’d channel her inner Rocky Balboa, and at others you’d think that she was a yoga instructor in a past life.
The colorful racks, which all featured clothing from local boutiques, lined the studio and were bursting with prints and patterns. Shoot stylist Rosemary O’Connor kept things right on trend with colorful maxi skirts and to-die-for candy-colored accessories. Our model’s looks ranged from a super-sleek up-do with red lips (à la Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s) to a side braid with bright makeup (reminiscent of a hip teen), courtesy of makeup artist Briana Alessi of Alessi Spa in White Plains.
At photographer Michael Polito’s super-cool Wappingers Falls studio, portraits of his rock star friends lined the walls alongside dozens of striking black and white photography. When the team wasn’t chatting about the shoot, Polito, who often jams with guitarist Earl Slick, made sure that David Bowie’s latest album was playing loud and clear. (Check out HVM’s most recent interview with Slick about playing with Bowie.)
After each look, the whole team crowded around Polito’s camera to fawn over the shots. They turned out incredible, and we can’t wait for you to see them in our May issue! Click through the slideshow below to see some of our behind-the-scenes shots.
