Kaelen Haworth presented a strong collection for her Kaelen line’s spring 2013 show. The Kaelen woman is strong and sophisticated, but she’s not afraid to wear feminine pieces. The collection was exceedingly wearable, featuring classic button-downs, practical jackets and coats, and a few darling rompers. Peplum hems were everywhere in the collection, which should cause both curvy and curve-less woman alike to rejoice. A good peplum blouse or skirt can be your best friend if you’re brave enough to flaunt one. Even though it may seem like it makes you appear bigger, it actually accentuates your waist and your curves beautifully. (For leaner women, it helps create the illusion of curves.) In summary, it’s basically the greatest clothing idea ever and I highly recommend you pick it up. But I digress…
The collection was done in very neutral colors (beige, black, white, grey) with the occasional burst of bright yellow. In keeping with the top trends for spring 2013, there was an abundance of color blocking, feminine all-black looks, printed jackets, stripes, lots of white, and the aforementioned peplum. My favorite pieces were a white wrap skirt, a well-tailored black jumpsuit, and awesome striped wide-leg pants. To see the collection, click through our slide show below.
