The Wedding Guru answers: Frankly, I’ve never heard of the bride and groom changing tables. It would be a nightmare for the caterer, who would have to set up two extra seats at every table, making them larger than they need to be. Then, once you and the groom leave, there’d be two empty seats.
If your mom is concerned about your meeting all the guests, that can be accomplished by a receiving line or simply by visiting each table to greet everyone. If she wishes, your mom may do so as well — but the changing tables concept is a really bad idea (and you may tell your mom that I said so)!
