You’ll be hard-pressed to find a brunch as exciting as the one at The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry. At its heart, The Cookery is a soulful Italian gastropub in a homey, comfortable setting. “We have a lot of fun cooking here and came out of the box with very little boundaries,” explains owner and executive Chef David DiBari. “Our brunch is a good reflection of that.”
The $35 prix fixe brunch includes your choice of one starter, one main, one dessert, and a glass of the week’s special “brunch punch.” Throughout your meal, servers offer small bites to guests — a practice that could leave you satiated all on its own. Try the fluffy Corn Waffles with Roasted Bone Marrow, spiced date honey, and hazelnuts, or the Eggs in a Jar with organic stone ground polenta from Blooming Hill Farm, topped with a creamy poached egg, and chili-dipped crispy spicy pork.
There’s plenty to choose from for your main course, but the real showstopper happens on Sundays when they serve a whole roasted suckling pig straight from the carving board. If you still have room for dessert, go for the warm chocolate polenta with graham crackers and toasted marshmallow.
Brunch is served from 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are accepted. Walk-ins are welcome and will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis.
