Marist College’s 30th Annual Silver Needle Fashion Show

Marist’s fashion design and merchandising students showcased their best works during the 30th annual runway and awards show

On Friday May 6, Marist College hosted its 30th Annual Silver Needle Fashion Show at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie. The designers and production team put on a fabulously professional and stunning show that embodied creativity and innovation.

Designers and members of the production team spent countless months in preparation for the show. Their effort and dedication was evident as the show went seamlessly.

The senior collections emphasized texture and structure while incorporating cultural influence, while the sophomore and junior collections displayed knitwear and the brand River + Stone, developed and run by students and faculty at Marist.

Highlights included the winner of “Best Collection,” Renee Pedigo, whose impressive portfolio was composed of eight pieces that incorporated intricate knitwear and elegant silhouettes in evening gowns. Radley Kramer, director of the Marist College Fashion Program, presented several other scholarship awards to senior designers, as well as fashion merchandising students.

One of the newer elements of the production is the fashion show’s own magazine; initially created as a lookbook for the collections, it’s now evolved to become an internationally distributed publication filled with a variety of content and feature articles.
