Kristen Laubacker and Second Lieutenant Ryan Corl, USAF are counting their blessings this holiday season as a newly-engaged couple. The pair will tie the knot in October 2013 at Le Chambord in Hopewell Junction, where they hope to “have a classy wedding, but still have fun,” Laubacker says.
Poughkeepsie native Laubacker met Corl during sophomore year of college at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. They dated for nearly three years before Corl asked Laubacker to marry him, but the couple says they agreed they were “in it for the long haul.” Corl currently serves his country in Colorado Springs, while Laubacker works as an administrative assistant in Washington, D.C. The temporary distance is not an obstacle for the college sweethearts who know how lucky they are to have each other.
Their autumn wedding at Le Chambord will have a “classic, vintage style” that draws inspiration from the past, Laubacker says. One of the most exciting elements of the ceremony is that it will be officiated by the same missionary who married Corl’s parents. While the rest of the wedding details are still undecided, Laubacker and Corl are excited for their future together and their classic wedding ceremony.
