Bethel Woods Bindy Bazaar Museum Shop
200 Hurd Rd, Bethel
845.583.2051
The groovy message of peace, love, and music still resounds at this ultra-cool shop located at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, site of the historic 1969 Woodstock Music Festival. A portion of all sales goes to support the center and its Museum at Bethel Woods.
Ambiance: Museum visitors exit through the gift shop. The enticing retail space features soaring ceilings; a giant photo wall of the grounds; carpeting with a flower power design; a sound pole with CDs and headphones; stage lighting; and a huge hanging three-tiered photographic mural displaying images of early performers.
Vibe: Inspired by the ’60s but with a modern flair, emphasis is on exclusive, custom-designed products with historical significance that reflect the culture and style of that decade, with many items produced by local artisans.
Mix: Everything from music boxes, dream catchers, soaps, holiday ornaments, pottery, jewelry, apparel, and artwork. Included are official Woodstock-licensed shirts and hoodies; locally produced tie-dye clothing; jewelry made from a fence that stood at the Woodstock site; and souvenirs and accessories featuring peace signs and the original dove-on-a-guitar logo, along with reproductions of the original Woodstock Music and Arts Fair program. Also, books and posters autographed by Woodstock legends, fine art prints, home and office goods, CDs, candles, and incense.
