What to Do This Week: September 26-29, 2016

Political parties, the decade-old Fireball Run, and an Eastern European dance fest highlight this Monday through Thursday

Well, fall has finally blanketed the Valley, and while you welcome chilly weather and sweater season, we’re here to shepherd you through another thrilling week of fun, leisure, and in tonight’s case, heated political theater.

MONDAY
Debate Showing at Wunderbar, Hudson
D-day has finally arrived, and we know just where to watch the political punches ensue. What better than a nice cold beer and some jalapeño poppers to fuel some friendly fire between bar buds? It all goes down Monday at 9 pm.

TUESDAY
Get Down (Ballot) Party, Kingston
In support of down-ballot candidates Zephyr Teachout and Sara Niccoli, this night of DJ sets and live performances from New Paltz’s The Dub Mob and Woodstock’s The Beautiful Bastards is sure to have you up on your feet and feeling the Bern.

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY
Fireball Run, Dutchess County Locations
This eight-day TV adventure, now in its it’s 10th year, has wrangled 40 teams to depart on a 2,000-mile journey from Western, NY to Amesbury, MA, locating the region’s most obscure destinations and historical finds for a cause. The run is set to pass through Dutchess County this week, with a music and car festival on Main Street in Beacon on Wednesday, and filming starting at Poughkeepsie’s Civic Center Plaza on Thursday.
