October is the prime month for apple and pumpkin picking, but it is also the month that highlights breast cancer, the second deadliest cancer in women. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer, an event that occurs once every two minutes. This calls for a need to find a cure and to make early detection a priority. Attend one of these Hudson Valley events happening this October to help raise money for cure research and boost awareness about this powerful disease.
