The Hudson Valley might be earning a solid reputation for some of the best wine festivals around, but we’re no slouch when it comes to our grainier potables. On Saturday, September 16, America On Tap will host the Hudson River Craft Beer Festival, an entire afternoon of music, games, and great beer.
The festival will feature over 180 different craft beers from more than 90 breweries, more than a dozen of which reside right in the Hudson Valley. Since you’ll of course want something to pair your beers against, there will be plenty of grub on hand from vendors like Handsome Devil BBQ, Reggae Boy Café, Whipped Cupcakes, Ei’s Fries & The Flying Food Truck, and many more.
Track your imbibing with the Untapped app (sort of like Foursquare, except, instead of new locations, you’re visiting new beer styles), or lose all conception of time as you dominate the beer pong and corn hole tables. (Or try out “Crown Hole,” a corn hole variant that incorporates elements of Quarters!)
Live music will run throughout, featuring acts like New York singer-songwriter Brendan McDonough, Kingston retro-rockabillies Lara Hope & the Ark-Tones, and Philadelphia-to-Catskill transplant James Hearne.
Tickets online are currently $50, a $5 discount off gate price. All tickets come with a souvenir sampling glass for tasting hours between 1:30 and 5:30 p.m., but VIP tickets are available for $80, which also include a free hat, $5 food voucher, and early access tasting starting at 12:30.
All attendees must be over the age of 21. Guests are encouraged to drink responsibly, and may bring their own designated drivers, who can gain entrance for only $10 at the gate.
