There will be an estimated 107,530 New York residents facing new cancer diagnoses this year, according to the American Cancer Society. And every year there are more than 3,500 Relay for Life events around the country.
You can help support — and celebrate — survivors and caregivers by participating in this ACS signature fundraiser, where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path for up to 24 hours. The event is long, but it’s a festival-like atmosphere with teams setting up themed campsites and engaging in games, activities, and entertainment when not walking. There is also plenty of food and handcrafted fun items for sale for all in attendance.
