June 4: Charlotte’s Web Wilbur the pig doesn’t want to become a bacon breakfast. Charlotte the spider steps in to help by spinning creative words that describe him into her web. Her hard work convinces the farmer—and everyone at the local fair—that Wilbur is more than potential for pork. Based on the classic book by E.B. A Time to Rhyme

June 17, 24, July 1: Rhyme Time by the Hudson Why have nursery rhymes been passed down through the generations? Well, besides the fact that children (and adults) have fun with them, they’re a great tool for teaching children basic communication and diction skills. At Boscobel’s outdoor program, little tykes ranging from one to five years old learn about the world around them through rhymes, songs, and stories. June 25: Butterfly Exhibit Opening Greenburgh Nature Center’s exhibit on these beautiful insects gets a new home within the Native Plant Meadow. Guests who attend the opening have the opportunity not only to learn about the bugs’ life cycle—from caterpillar to butterfly—but also the crucial role they play in nature. Take a short guided walk through the meadow and hear about the epic migration—from Mexico to Canada—that Monarch butterflies embark upon each year. Following the adventure, kids can make their own butterfly craft to take home. Exhibit opening: 10 am. $11, $10 seniors & students, $9 children, under 2 free. Guided walk and craft: 2 pm. $8. Family Fun
June 26: Family Day In conjunction with an exhibit of inflatable sculptures by Jimmy Kuehnle, the Hudson River Museum invites families for a day of inflatable fun. In addition to meandering through the sculptures, guests can listen to live music from Folklore Urbana, create their own art projects, watch a star show, and enjoy a performance by balloon artist Brenda Hernandez.
