Park Peacocks Run Wild, a public art exhibit sponsored by the Junior League of Kingston (with help from Bank of America and Bruderhof), has the city all in a flap. Twenty-two of these three-foot-high, plastic-and-plywood birds have been showing off their feathered finery at sponsoring locations all around town.
Each sculpture was elaborately decorated by a local artist (professional and amateur alike); on October 26, the artworks are set to be auctioned, with a large chunk of the proceeds earmarked to help build Kingston Kinderland II — a new playground at Forsyth Park — next spring. Visit www.facebook.com/KingstonKinderlandII for exact locations of each peacock.
