Take in an opera, enjoy local artwork, and celebrate mothers this month

Wired Talent

Thru May 15: Since 2002, the Shirt Factory and its sister buildings — all of which lived former lives as industrial edifices but are now a hub for the arts — have been drawing a variety of artists, craftspeople, and performers in the Kingston and Ulster County areas. The exhibit that opened last month in the Wired Gallery, called the Shirt Factory Artists, focuses on creative individuals and the work they produce in a variety of different mediums. On May 1, a panel discusses the driving forces behind this revitalizing cultural movement. Sat.-Sun. 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. and by appointment. Panel discussion May 1 at 4 p.m. Wired Gallery. 11 Mohonk Rd., High Falls. 682-564-5613; www.thewiredgallery.com
