On the Mountain Is an Après Ski-Themed Weekend in Hunter

In Greene County, On the Mountain invites locals to enjoy live music and winter fun at this three-day après ski-themed music weekend.

Although winter is winding down, there is no end to the mountain festivities that make the Hudson Valley a premier place for activities. This March, Hunter Mountain and Glen Falls House are no exception as they plan to host the fourth installment of the On the Mountain music weekend. Produced by The Wild Honey Pie creative agency, the après ski- themed three-day event will feature 12 live music performances, food pop-ups, wellness retreat activities, astrology events, and much more winter fun for a 300-person audience.

Returning for the first time since 2015, this snow-or-shine event is a super intimate way to see some all-time favorites or cool new artists in a one-of-a-kind setting. Performances will be held at the base lodge at Hunter Mountain during the day and in the rustic, middle-of-the-woods tavern at Glen Falls House at night. In previous years, the highly anticipated music weekend featured popular artists like MisterWives, Of Montreal, Ra Ra Riot, Alex Winston, Snowmine, Tei Shi, Marian Hill, and more.

This year, the entertainment is bigger than ever with just about every winter activity under the sun. Each day will feature live music, skiing and snowboarding, an ’80s ski costume contest, yoga, somatic breathwork, sound baths, art by Amelia Williams, food pop-ups, karaoke, hot tubs, and more. As for performers, this year’s lineup is packed with local talent and international stars like Gus Dapperton, Local Natives, Rubblebucket, Fat Tony, Salt Cathedral, Runnner, Toledo, Girlpuppy, Saint Hippo, and Planetarium Party.

Aside from music, the culinary scene at On the Mountain is sure to be just as exciting with pop-ups that showcase Vegan Nom and fast-growing fast-food spot Moonburger. Chef Elizabeth Heitner of LA pop-up Malli will also be in attendance for a Swiss Alpine restaurant takeover, and discounted drinks will be available all day from the event’s official partners Olipop, New Belgium, Maker’s Mark, and more.

The Wild Honey Pie is the face behind the production of this extravagant three-day celebration. Launched in 2009, the brand is a music blog-turned-creative agency that aims to break down the barrier between artists and fans through brand-funded experiences. For the creative agency, On the Mountain is essentially its pitch to the music industry about what festivals can and should be. Ultimately, The Wild Honey Pie wants to set “a new model for music discovery and community,” according to founder of the creative agency, Eric Weiner.

Tickets to the music weekend include access to live music and wellness retreat activities, as well as priority access to massages and pop-up dining options at Glen Falls House. Attendees will have the option to purchase lift tickets to enjoy runs down the mountain, and The Wild Honey Pie will offer shuttles between Hunter Mountain and Glen Falls House to transport guests from concert to concert. Overnight stays are also available at Glen Falls House.

“Fall in love with the Catskills over our three-day weekend, with music from some of our favorite bands in the universe,” Weiner remarks.

On the Mountain will take place at Hunter Mountain and Glen Falls House from March 22-24.
