It seems like every other day, a new list proclaiming the state’s/country’s/world’s/universe’s top destinations is flooding our news feeds. (Case in point: Fodor’s “Go-List,” from mid-December.) And it’s no surprise that one of the Valley’s own cultural gems — the Catskills — consistently makes an appearance.
Of course, this isn’t really news: The region, with its historic reputation for quaint bungalow colonies, haute resorts, comics’ stomping grounds, and variety of outdoor delights, has experienced such a resurgence that we couldn’t help but dedicate an entire issue to it, here.
While we’ll admit it’s become tiresome that our downstate pals refer to us as “the New Brooklyn” or “Williamsburg North” (guys… let it go), we’ll gladly pardon the New York Times, which recently included the Catskills in its list of “52 Places to Go in 2015.” Among their highlights: the ever-hip Graham & Co., skiing, fishing, and dining (like Cucina; we recommend a few more restaurants here). See the full story here.
Thirty-ninth, though? We can do better.
