Mount Peter Ski Area Debuts Major Upgrades for the Winter Season

In Warwick, Mount Peter Ski Area introduces all-weather snowmaking capabilities and a new lodge for the 2024-2025 ski season.

If you’re not looking to travel to the Catskills for some fun in the snow this winter, Mount Peter Ski Area is the solution to your troubles. Located in Warwick, the family mountain is a one-stop shop when it comes to skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Recently, the locale debuted some major upgrades for the winter. With all-weather snowmaking capabilities and a new lodge to host events in its snow-tubing area, Mount Peter Ski Area is your snow sports destination for the 2024-2025 ski season.

Now in its 89th year, the Warwick mountain prides itself on continually investing and innovating to deliver exciting winter fun for everyone who visits. This year’s improvements are only the latest among several in recent years, including an expansion and redesign of its Snow Basin Learning Center, a doubled rental space, and an online system that enables guests to plan a trip ahead of time. With the advanced snow-making capabilities and new lodge, Mount Peter Ski Area hopes to become a hub for the community in Orange County.

“We are beyond excited for these additions to Mount Peter and our tubing area,” says executive manager Amy Sampson-Cutler. “These superb new capabilities mean we can keep the tubing area open well before and beyond our traditional season. We can now host birthday parties and groups consistently throughout an extended tubing season. In addition, during warmer months, Mount Peter is now a wonderful, attractive venue for bridal and baby showers, as well as other events!”

With an investment in the Latitude 90, a revolutionary all-weather snowmaking system, Mount Peter’s tubing area can produce snow in higher temperatures than traditional snowmaking equipment can, withstanding ambient temperatures, winds, and humidity. Now, Mount Peter Ski Area can make snow 24 hours a day to produce over 156 cubic yards of powder. Along with the new system, the Warwick mountain also built a new lodge in the tubing area that features 1,500 square feet of event space. The new amenity is ideal for hosting group gatherings, birthday parties, and even summer events come warm weather.

Also new to the snow sports destination this year is a multitude of food options in Pete’s Pub, the mountain’s onsite eatery. When visitors need a break from the slopes to refuel, the restaurant offers scrumptious meals and treats prepared by new Executive Chef Kelli Scott. Inspired by gastropub favorites, the new menu offers everything from soft pretzels to short rib croquettes to New Orleans-style shrimp and grits to keep you warm through the winter.

“We’re filled with pride that Mount Peter is starting its 89th year of operations – and we’re also proud that we continually innovate and think big to give our skiers, snowboarders, and tubers the very best in fun,” says Sampson-Cutler. “We are excited to have our wonderful visitors experience our ability to manufacture snow in all types of weather in our tubing area and taste a wonderland of new food options in Pete’s Pub.”
