June 4-20: Cinderella The magical story of Cinderella has been transformed through numerous cultures and decades, but Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical love story from the 1950s still enchants the hearts of the young and old. In this classic story, a young woman’s dreams of marrying a prince are scoffed at by her evil stepsisters, but end up coming true with the help of some magical friends. Little Girl, Big Heart
June 5-6: Annie Leapin’ lizards! This popular comic strip-turned-musical tells the heartwarming tale of Little Orphan Annie and her adventures living in an orphanage run by the wicked Miss Hannigan. She makes new friends along the way, helps to put a stop to Miss Hannigan’s shenanigans, and even finds a loving family to live with at billionaire Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks’ home. The production is brought to life on the Ulster Performing Arts Center stage by the New York Conservatory for the Arts of Hurley. June 12-13: Hands-on Heritage Crafts For some kids, the phrase “back in the old days” refers to cassette tapes, VCRs, and telephones with cords. But Van Cortlandt Manor wants to bring you back even further in time. At this fun, interactive crafting event, visitors of all ages have the opportunity to take part in creating some historic handiwork. June 20: Circus, Circus The beauty of art is that it’s open to interpretation; this guided tour through Storm King Art Center aims to help young participants envision the grounds’ sculptures as various circus animals and acts. Do you see a flying trapeze? Or how about a giant elephant?
