Oct. 26 & 27: Leo Lionni’s Swimmy, Frederick, and Inch by Inch The Mermaid Theater of Nova Scotia brings to life three of Leo Lionni’s lovable children’s stories — Swimmy, Frederick, and Inch by Inch — using puppets. Swimmy is a tiny fish cast aside by the others in his school because he looks different, but in the end is able to use that trait to help save them from trouble. Frederick is a clever mouse with a love of poetry and the arts; and Inchworm, the star of Inch by Inch, loves to measure anything and everything. Oct. 9: Dalmatian Day What’s black and white and lots of fun? It’s Dalmatian Day at the FASNY Museum of Firefighting. This interactive event will have you seeing spots with a variety of Dalmatian-themed activities, including a puppet show, live magic, do-it-yourself arts and crafts, and more. Oct. 16: Dinosaurs! Travel back in time to the Stone Age with a storytelling puppet show about dinosaurs at the Emelin Theater. In this interactive program, you’ll meet Atka, an eight-year-old Arctic gray wolf, and learn about his life.
