It’s About That Time for X2O’s Holiday Cabaret

High cuisine and wine, high (and some low) humor, festive music, plus the Kelly brothers dressed in drag

There are Christmas tree lightings, caroling events in parks, concerts by local theater groups, and even a Frosty the Snowman Parade in Armonk but perhaps the most gratifying county holiday celebration takes place at X2O Xaviars on the Hudson during the last few weeks of December.

With a vibe somewhere between heartwarming and raucous, the 27th annual Xaviars Holiday Cabaret will warm even the grinchiest of holiday humbugs. Whether celebrating a night out with your best friend or spouse or toasting the holidays with your office, the cabaret is a high-spirited romp of excellent (and bounteous) food and drink plus musical numbers including classic and comedic songs. Owner Peter Kelly’s brothers Ned and Paul, along with actress/singer Mary Lou Shriber, perform under the musical direction of Assaf Gleizner and choreography by Angelique Ilo. The “Sisters” of St. Nicholas is a particularly humorous act that is alone almost worth the price of admission.

This year’s event, titled Here’s To Us! A Christmas Cabaret, has sold out for the Saturday, Dec. 10 and 17 dates, but there are still seats left for the Dec. 9, 11, 16, and 18 performances ($150). There are two matinees on Sundays Dec. 11 and 18 starting at 1 p.m.

“Our Holiday Cabaret has been going for nearly three decades,” says Kelly. “It is the very best thing we do.”
