In bucolic Ulster County, the property invites visitors to unwind on the green, the organic farm and orchard, the spa, or the restaurant.
What if we told you your dream vacation awaits right here in the Hudson Valley?
No, it’s not too good to be true. Thanks to Inness, an escape filled with food, golf, shopping, and relaxation can be found in Accord, nestled in the charming heart of Ulster County.
Slated to open throughout summer 2021, Inness has already generated buzz over its state-of-the-art nine-hole golf course, which was designed by acclaimed golf architects King-Collins Golf, the same team that developed the top-rated Sweetens Cove in Tennessee. Unlike standard 18-hole courses, the one at Inness is all about enjoyment of the sport above all else. Rules are minimal, scorekeeping is optional, and fun is encouraged on the flowing greens.
Of course, golf is only part of the experience on the 225-acre property, which bills itself as an “intimate country refuge and members club” in the Hudson Valley. When brainstorming the concept for the space, partners Taavo Somer, the restaurateur and architect behind Hotel Kinsley in Kingston, designers Post Company (formerly Studio Tack), and development team CBSK Ironstate and Lee Pollock envisioned a setting that could offer a respite from urban living. Now alive in Ulster County, Inness invites locals and city residents alike to escape and unwind on the beautiful, curated property.
From the ground up, the destination embraces a duality of cultivation and natural freedom. Landscape designer Miranda Brooks oversees the thoughtful harmony between those two aesthetics, creating a peaceful ethos for visitors to enjoy.

Since Inness is a refuge, it only makes sense that the property features a hotel for visitors to spend the night. The hotel makes the most of the landscape at Inness, with 28 cabins and a 12-room farmhouse available for booking Hudson Valley escapes. Both the cabins and the farmhouse draw inspiration from the region’s Dutch colonial architecture, along with the natural aesthetic that defines the entirety of the Valley.
From the hotel, guests at Inness can hop across the property as they see fit. When it comes to shopping, The Outfitter is a delight for all-season adventures. The storefront is a retail collaboration between Somer, ACL Golf’s Michael Williams, and the Brooklyn-based brand Adsum and stocks everything visitors need to golf, skate, or cross-country ski in the Hudson Valley.

For those who crave a place to take a breather, the pools and spa await. Inness has not one, but two pools on the property, with one located outside the farmhouse for private use by hotel guests and the other near the Events Barn for club members and events. As for the spa, it will open later in 2021 and will be a combination indoor/outdoor setting with private treatment rooms that pair idyllic views with relaxing packages.
On the foodie front, visitors to Inness have a bounty of attractions from which to choose. For breakfast and lighter bites, the Farm Shop is the place to be. It’s located at the center of Inness and sits right next to a three-acre organic farm and orchard. Inside, guests can pick up coffee, pastries and treats, fresh fruits and vegetables, or supplies and goodies for the day. Once up and running, the farm will supply the restaurant (and the catering program) onsite. The restaurant, which can seat 100 across two rooms, is open to the public, Inness members, and hotel guests, which makes it a great destination to meet friends or grab a bite after a game of golf. The menu embraces a farm-to-table focus and seasonal ingredients, along with meals prepared on the outdoor smokers and grills during the warmer months.

With so much to do on the grounds (did we mention there’s tennis, too?), Inness is a desirable destination for both Hudson Valleyites and visitors to the area. That’s why it offers guest and member experiences to ensure there’s something for everyone. For instance, the golf course and restaurant are open to the public (with a day pass), as well as to members and hotel guests. The pools and spa, meanwhile, are open to members and hotel guests. In addition to all-inclusive access, members can take advantage of discounted hotel rooms, dedicated tee times, dinner reservations at the restaurant, access to events, and shopping discounts.
Currently, golf at Inness is open to the public, with tee times available for booking online. The hotel debuts in July 2021, with the spa opening set for later in 2021.
