Hunter Mountain

Options for everyone.

It’s no wonder Hunter is a top choice for all levels of skiers: newbies, families with kids in tow, weekenders, and top-notch rippers alike all flock to its three mountains that boast 67 trails on 320 skiable acres, and 13 lifts.

Hunter’s extensive Learning Center draws raves for its variety of group and private ski lessons. Beginners love the training area of the mountain with gentle slopes, user-friendly lifts, and other amenities to help folks new to the sport master the basics in a fun, safe environment.

Intermediate and advanced skiers will never be bored, either, since there’s an array of challenging trails winding through the resort that’s capped by the 3,200-foot summit of Hunter Mountain.

Hunter also features well-maintained terrain parks for snowboarders and freestyle skiers. If snow tubing is more your thing, Hunter’s family-friendly tubing park is the largest in New York state, with lanes nearly 1,000 feet long.

Hunter is known as “The Snowmaking Capital of the World” — assuring super ski conditions regardless of the weather.

Where to Dine & Stay

Hunter is a full-fledged resort, with multiple on-site lodging options. Off the mountain, our go-to is Scribner’s Catskill Lodge in Hunter, which has 38 guest rooms and suites, some with fireplaces. Meals at its Prospect restaurant are created by in-house chefs, and the dining room has floor-to-ceiling windows with expansive views of the Catskills winter wonderland.
