Here’s What to Catch at SPAC This Summer


Our picks of can’t-miss events at Saratoga Performing Arts Center this season.

Completed in 1966 as the summer home of both the New York City Ballet (July 14-18), and the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra (Aug 5-Aug 7), the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) hosts a wide variety of performances high and low. Here are our picks of can’t-miss events this season.

July 10, 11: Dave Matthews Band

The American rock band returns to the stage at SPAC for two nights this summer. Grab friends and family and get ready to sing all night long.

July 12: GNA Countryfest 2020

Country comes to upstate New York with artists like Brantley Gilbert, Chris Janson, Jordan Davis, Lauren Alaina, and Big Sky Country gracing the stage.

July 22: Nickelback

That’s right. Nickelback will play its fifth album, “All The Right Reasons,” which was released 15 years ago, from cover to cover. You don’t want to miss a live performance of Rockstar.

July 29: Rod Stewart

The legendary two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performer will be on the stage this summer with special guest Cheap Trick.

Aug 3: Dead & Company

The rock band consisting of former Grateful Dead members alongside John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, and Jeff Chimenti is a powerhouse performance.

Aug 8: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert

This screening is a collaboration with Philadelphia Orchestra, which will perform the iconic John Williams score in its entirety. Star Wars attire is highly encouraged.

Aug 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, 25: Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center

Every Sunday and Tuesday for three weeks in a row, three great composers from three different cities – Vienna, Budapest, and Prague – will grace the stage.

Aug 19: Bugs Bunny at the Symphony 30th Anniversary Edition

Looney Tunes and its unforgettable animated stars will project on the big screen while the Philadelphia Orchestra performs original Looney Tunes scores for the first time since 1991.

Sept 6: Maroon 5

Pop-combo Maroon 5 and special guest Meghan Trainor bring all of their radio hits to the SPAC stage for summertime sing-alongs.

Sept 12: The Australian Pink Floyd Show

As a stop on its 2020 world tour, the tribute band will overtake the grounds at SPAC for a full Pink Floyd experience.
