Grizzly Bear's Beautifully Strange Psychedelia Comes to Kingston

The psychedelic pop band is set to take the stage at BSP’s Back Room Theater.

Brooklyn four-piece Grizzly Bear, will bring their melodic, experimental sounds to the Back Room Theater at Kingston’s historic BSP Entertainment Complex for a two-night stretch Tuesday and Wednesday, August 15-16. They tour ahead of the August 18 release of their latest full-length album, Painted Ruins, their fifth overall and their first since 2012’s Shields.

The band started as a solo project by front man Ed Droste who recorded most of the band’s first album, Horn of Plenty, before incorporating Chris Bear (ironically enough), Daniel Rossen, and Chris Taylor in 2004. Grizzly Bear is known for their “psychedelic pop” and electronic influences, as well as their reliably trippy music videos.
