One of television’s most decorated, and possibly feared, chefs took a step into Congers early November to put a local restaurant through a hellish 24-hour boot camp. Gordon Ramsay, the smack-talking celebrity chef who knows what he likes, brought his culinary expertise and quick wit to Bella Gianna’s (formerly Romolo’s) on Rt. 303 to film an episode of his new Fox show 24 Hours to Hell and Back.
Similar to Kitchen Nightmares, this new show rally’s Ramsay’s team to a business seeking a crash course in restaurant success. The difference? In the eight-episode series 24 Hours to Hell and Back, Ramsay brings along his personal Hell on Wheels, “a 70-foot-long semi-truck that unfolds into a state-of-the-art, completely self-sustaining mobile kitchen, where he’ll re-invent the struggling restaurant’s menu, and whip the staff into shape.”
“With the clock set at 24 hours-and-ticking, I can promise you this culinary boot camp gives a whole new meaning to ‘Hell on Wheels,’” said Ramsay.
As there is no set premiere date from Fox, there’s no way to know whether or not Ramsay and his hellish team were successful in revitalizing Bella Gianna’s except for stopping by the restaurant yourself.
