You’d never guess that a drive down a meandering roadway just a short distance from downtown New Paltz would lead you to a property so breathtaking it feels like an oasis unto itself. Yet that’s exactly the case with Glasco BLCK Creek, the latest addition to the family of Glasco properties in the Hudson Valley.
After launching with a residence in Woodstock in 2021, Glasco founder Rob Ross was eager to find another home that could convey the same sense of quietude and luxury. So, when he came across what’s now known as Glasco BLCK Creek, he knew it would be the perfect addition. To get it up and running, he recruited noted environmental design firm 100 Miles North. Led by Brigid Walsh, a certified permaculture design expert and former Vogue executive based in the Hudson Valley, 100 Miles North completed an extensive renovation with a strong emphasis on sustainability.
“The planned renovations were not only thoughtful and meticulous, but also deeply rooted in sustainability—and essential value for us,” Ross explains. “The project perfectly exemplifies how luxury and environmental stewardship can harmonize, celebrating the surrounding natural beauty while creating an exceptional guest experience.”

The Grounds
Glasco BLCK Creek, which made its debut in June 2024, is something of an oasis in Ulster County. The 164-acre estate is a marriage of design, luxury, and nature in one setting, and it makes it easy for guests to embrace all three tenets as they relax and unwind.
The estate itself features not one, but four houses. Black Bear Manor is the main residence, and it accommodates 10 to 12 guests. Nearby, White Tail Lodge houses seven, Fox Cottage fits six, and Turtle Cove welcomes four. Each residence is unique in its design style, yet all are seamlessly tied to one another through natural elements with an emphasis on serenity. Glasco is all about tailored accommodations, so once an individual or group makes a booking, they’re guaranteed privacy and exclusive access to the grounds, with no other cross-bookings during their stay.
Both Black Bear Manor and White Tail Lodge rest against the 37-acre lake on the grounds. The lake itself is not just a beautiful sight to behold, but also a source of recreation. It’s swimmable, and Glasco makes life vests, kayaks, a water trampoline, a paddleboat, and a canoe readily available during the warmer months. Elsewhere, trails, forests, and meadows are ripe for exploring.

The Interiors
As a peek into any of the residences on Glasco BLCK Creek’s grounds makes clear, a thoughtful attention to detail is at the forefront of the interior design. Led by Walsh, the 100 Miles North team blended natural elements with modern luxury. Wood elements are a common theme across the property, but they’re never overwhelming. Instead, they harmonize with softer touches like textured fabrics and warm hues. Much of the furniture was custom-designed and sourced from sustainable, artisan makers or collected as vintage pieces. Colors fall largely in line with earthy tones, with soft grays, deep greens, and elegant neutrals mixed throughout the spaces.
“The materials used throughout the home further emphasize quality and thoughtfulness,” Ross observes. “Reclaimed wood beams and natural stone finishes ground the space in its environment, while plush textiles and custom upholstery invite relaxation.”
Just as the décor and materials used throughout the residences invite a sense of nature, so too do the homes’ designs. Expansive windows and sliding glass doors evoke an indoor-outdoor feel and make natural light abundant for large swaths of the day. The result is a soft glow throughout each room that further invites guests to stop, take a breath, and let their worries fade away.

What to Expect at Glasco BLCK Creek
From start to finish, stays at Glaso BLCK Creek are designed to be unforgettable. The residences themselves aim to make guests feel more than at home (this is a vacation, after all) from the moment they pass the threshold.
“Our residences are equipped with five-star amenities that blend the comforts of a luxury hotel with the privacy and warmth of a home,” Ross explains. “Think plush bedding, spa-inspired bathrooms, gourmet kitchens, and inviting spaces for relaxation and connection. Guests also enjoy exclusive touches like outdoor living areas, serene wellness features, and expertly curated designs that enhance the overall experience.”

While the homes themselves are a delight, part of what takes the experience of staying at Glasco to new heights is the concierge service the team provides. No matter what guests look to achieve during their stay, the concierge team is ready to help, whether that means arranging special dining experiences, curating fun things to do, or simply answering questions about the home.
“At Glasco, we’re committed to delivering a seamless, sophisticated escape where guests feel pampered, valued, and completely at ease,” Ross enthuses. “Every detail, from service to design, is thoughtfully curated to create memories that linger long after your stay.”
Things to Do
Deciding upon things to do at Glasco BLCK Creek comes down to what a guest’s overall aim for their stay is. Families and larger groups may want to play pool in Black Bear Manor or go swimming in the lake while couples opt to cozy up to watch a movie, go on a hike, or simply cook a meal together in the manor’s extravagant chef’s kitchen. For small company retreats, Glasco offers numerous gathering areas and breakout spaces, all of which are designed with a level of comfort and ease that makes guests feel right at home.

During winter evenings, the manor’s working fireplace is an idyllic place to gather around, while summer months make the porch overlooking the lake the place to be. In any season, Glasco delights guests with new attractions that make every experience here unique.
And that’s just on the grounds. Nearby, New Paltz proper is just down the road, as are the restaurants and shops in Highland. The Walkway Across the Hudson is a short drive away, and Mohonk Preserve is a great pick for anyone who wants to immerse themselves even further into the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley.
On the Horizon for Glasco BLCK Creek
While Glasco BLCK Creek is relatively new to the Hudson Valley, it’s already seen interest that’s “nothing short of explosive,” Ross reveals. It’s been a particular hit with families, who love the 11 bedrooms and communal spaces that make it easy for large groups to gather and share meals. It’s also garnered attention from companies planning smaller retreats or offsites, since it offers both places to work and settings to bond and relax.

For smaller groups of up to 50, Glasco allows for intimate events and weddings. For larger groups, the estate considers bookings on a case-by-case basis.
Looking ahead, Ross and his team are excited to welcome new guests to the property and continue to deliver luxurious, memorable stays. Long-term, they have eyes on new locations for the Glasco brand, but their overall mission is to make sure they always “deliver an extraordinary experience, and we remain dedicated to maintaining that level of quality as we grow,” Ross shares.
