In keeping with the spooky season, the Bardavon screens the 1920 silent film classic, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. John Barrymore stars as the scientist whose experimental potion can change him from a do-gooder philanthropist to evil incarnate. In some scenes, Barrymore used no makeup when playing Hyde, relying solely on his ability to contort his face into the appropriately villainous expression. Live music from the opera house’s Mighty Wurlitzer organ accompanies the film. Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m. $6. • 35 Market St., Poughkeepsie. 845-473-2072 or www.bardavon.org
