How times have changed: Can-Can, the Cole Porter musical currently playing at the Westchester Broadway Theatre, concerns the lives (and loves) of Parisian showgirls in the 1890s, who made their living by performing the scandalous dance that showed off their petticoats (and glamorous gams). In keeping with the spooky season, the Bardavon screens the 1920 silent film classic, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. John Barrymore stars as the scientist whose experimental potion can change him from a do-gooder philanthropist to evil incarnate. In some scenes, Barrymore used no makeup when playing Hyde, relying solely on his ability to contort his face into the appropriately villainous expression.
