Good things in small packages: Just eight pieces make up Decolonizing the Exhibition, the show of Inuit artworks on paper currently up at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center. But this handful of works, executed in the mid- to late-2000s by indigenous artists living in the Arctic regions of Canada, runs the gamut in size (from small to mural), style (from cartoon-like figures to spare abstractions), technique (watercolor, pencil, collage), and subject matter (from depictions of autobiographical events to dreamlike compositions). AndreÌ Watts was just 16 when his 1963 televised performance of a technically demanding Liszt piano concerto brought him instant fame; West Side Story composer Leonard Bernstein said he “flipped” when he first heard the teenager tickle the ivories. Since then, Watts has gone on to a stellar classical music career and won boatloads of accolades, including an honorary doctorate from Yale at age 26, the youngest person ever to receive that recognition. Go ahead, make your holidays last a bit longer: You’ve still got a few days to catch White Christmas at the Westchester Broadway Theatre. Based on the 1954 Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye film, this stage production tells of two WWII buddies-turned-Broadway-impresarios who discover their former commanding officer in straitened circumstances — and vow to bring him holiday cheer no matter what the cost. The Irving Berlin score, including “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano,” and — natch — “White Christmas,” will keep you feeling merry and bright long into the New Year. Through Jan. 12. Named one of Comedy Central’s 100 top stand-up comedians of all time, this actor and funnyman has been keeping both film and live audiences in stitches for 30 years. Whether he’s chasing elusive Christmas toys with Arnold Schwarzenegger on screen in Jingle All the Way, or on stage spinning stories about life’s mundane moments into comic gems — it’s hard not to smile when this performer is in the house.
