This year, usher in fall the old-fashioned way with a day at the Germantown Lions Club’s Hudson Valley Apple Festival in Palatine Park. On Saturday, September 19, hop on a hayride, watch derby cars crafted from apple crates race, and get dizzy in a maze of hay bales. Fireworks and live music from saxophone performer Anthony Michael are also part of the fun. Any pastry whiz with an enviable apple recipe up their sleeve will want to partake in the baking contest. New this year is a hula-hoop contest as well as an antiques road show. See website for full schedule of events.
