Red Delicious, Empires, Crispins — they’re all up for grabs at Goold Orchards near Schodak. Celebrating this bounty is the 27th annual Apple Festival on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11.
Do stock up on the circa-1910 farm’s star fruit, but don’t miss grub from the likes of Schenectady food truck Wandering Dago. Wander through the wine tent ($8 per tasting) to sample selections from Brookview Station, Hudson-Chatham, and Pazdar wineries, as well as Whitecliff winery. Of course, knocking back sweet, fresh-pressed cider remains a priority. New to the festival this year is special entertainment provided by Hair of the Dog.
