On July 13, the Hudson Stage Company hosted its annual gala concert, entitled “Home Show,” at the Whippoorwill Hall Theatre at Armonk’s North Castle Library. The performance featured stars of stage and screen, and was followed by a cocktail reception at Restaurant North in Armonk.

Eighteen local restaurants prepared their finest sliders for the crowd; each guest then voted for his or her favorite creation. Poughkeepsie’s Mill House Brewing Company stole the show, earning the title “Best Burger” for their Mill House 50/50 Burger, a patty made with short rib, brisket, house-made bacon, serrano peppers, smoked cheddar, and pimiento cheese. Whistling Willie’s of Cold Spring bagged second place, and Cosimo’s of Poughkeepsie took home the third place prize. Proceeds from the shindig benefited the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
