The Benedictine Foundation’s 45th Annual Winter’s Eve Gala honored local residents and organizations for their achievements in the medical field and the community. The event took place December 12 at Diamond Mills Hotel & Tavern in Saugerties.

Marist College President Dennis J. Murray presented the President’s Award for Community Service to Denise Doring VanBuren, VP of Public Affairs at Central Hudson; Marjorie L. Hart, board member and formerly chair at Scenic Hudson; and Charles S. North, then-President of the Dutchess Regional Chamber of Commerce (he has since retired) on October 24 at the college’s 47th Annual Community Breakfast. More than 180 community members were on hand to honor their contributions to the region
The Dutchess County Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors hosted their Annual Holiday Gala on December 1 at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. More than 100 people attended, including Lisa Mannion, Helen Gordon, Angela Ingham, Kelly Campbell, Rita White, and Terri Crozier
Dr. Michael Sheran of Medical Associates of the Hudson Valley spoke at the Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center in Kingston on December 1. It was World AIDS Day, and more than 50 people came out for the evening of remembrance
