For Veterans Day, Hudson Valley towns remember those who bravely served our country at these ceremonies, dedications, and parades.

For Veterans Day this weekend, honor local heroes and men and women who have served our country in the United States military at these events and ceremonies in the Hudson Valley. Join in on a parade, attend a wreath-laying ceremony, or enjoy free events and meals if you are a veteran yourself.

Albany County

Veterans Day Aboard Slater

Join the City of Albany at its Veterans Day ceremony, which kicks off at 9 a.m., followed by guided tours of the USS Slater, a World War II warship. All veterans are admitted onto the ship for free in honor of the holiday to see the historic ship restored to her former glory.

Veterans Memorial Park, Cohoes
November 11, 2 p.m.

The City of Cohoes and E.T. Ruane Post 476 present this Veterans Day ceremony to honor all who served the United States at Veterans Memorial Park on Columbia Street.

Dutchess County

Veterans Eat Free at Savona’s

Savona’s Trattoria in Poughkeepsie, Kingston, Hudson, and Red Hook
November 9

As a thank you to the Hudson Valley’s veterans, Savona‘s Trattoria serves up a two-course Italian meal from the special Veterans Day menu, including dishes like eggplant parmigiana, fettuccini chicken alfredo, and meat lasagna. The lunch or dinner is free for all veterans with a military I.D. at all locations.

Veterans Day Commemoration 

White Plains City Hall, White Plains

White Plains honors Veterans Day with a ceremony sponsored by the Mayor’s Memorial and Veterans Day board. The gathering will take place at City Hall on Saturday morning to honor those who served our country.

Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony

Somers Town House, Somers
November 11, 10:15 a.m.

The Town of Somers and Somers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8213 host this Veterans Day parade to honor local heroes. It will be followed by a ceremony starting at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial. Head to Somers Town House afterwards for refreshments.
