JBFC is offering a virtual screening room to enjoy during the quarantine, in partnership with a number of film distributors. These films were curated by the JBFC programming staff and consist of a wide selection of new releases. Digital screenings must be purchased. Now available is And Then We Danced, Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band, Saint Frances, and Corpus Christi.

The Moviehouse is offering virtual screening of several movies, including Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band, Sorry We Missed You, Fantastic Fungi, The Whistlers, And We Danced, and Saint Frances. Tickets are purchased by following the “Purchase Tickets” link on the film of your choosing, and you will be provided a digital copy of the movie. Price and rental times vary.

In partnership with Magnolia Pictures, the Rosendale Theatre is offering three movies at this time to stream during the COVID-19 quarantine.  These movies are Slay the Dragon, The Whistlers, Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band. All movies can be rented on the Rosendale Theatre’s webpage, and all proceeds will be split 50/50 between the theatre and Magnolia Pictures.

Shadowland Stages

The performing art center’s Shadowland Cinema is streaming classic movies through the month of April during the quarantine – for free! The movies are streamed every Friday at 7 p.m., and links to the movies are posted on Shadowland’s Facebook thirty minutes prior to the stream. The films being streamed this month include His Girl Friday, The Most Dangerous Game, and Little Lord Fauntleroy.

All events are free, held at 7 p.m.

Story Screen Beacon

Beacon’s Story Screen Theater has launched a new streaming platform, curating a whole host of indie movies to enjoy while at home. Story Screen has partnered with various film distributors to bring these movies to your computer screens, including Film Movement Puls, Distrib Film, Magnolia Pictures and Kinonow. Films can be rented and streamed through Story Screen Beacon’s Digital Theater webpage.

Upstate Films’ Rhinebeck and Woodstock Theaters are closed for now, but like many other theaters they are offering films digitally through a handful of distributors. Woodstock Film Festival

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Woodstock Film Festival has launched two programs: “Alternative Projectings,” short and full-length films curated by their programmers, staff, and alumni that are free to stream to mailing list subscribers. And “Virtual Films & Conversations,” intimate online Q&A sessions with filmmakers, producers, and other industry leaders through Zoom and Facebook Live. All talks are open to members of the public and participants are encouraged to field questions by leaving a comment or submitting one to our moderator.
