As part of the family-friendly occasion, walkers can peek through telescopes, provided by the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association, to score an up-close view of the moon, the stars, and maybe even a constellation or two.
Woodstock Earth Day Celebration

Show the planet a little love at Woodstock’s town-wide Earth Day fest. Beginning at 10 a.m., Woodstock Village Green hosts an educational event to inform visitors about composting, recycling, eco-gardening, and more. Local businesses and groups, including Repair Café, Woodstock Tree Committee, and Fox Farm Apiary, will be onsite to discuss eco-minded topics with locals. P.S. If you happen to get hungry during the daytime to-do, keep an eye out for treats from Woodstock restaurants or venture into one of the eateries on Tinker Street for a scrumptious lunch.
King of the Mac

As the countdown to the Hudson Valley Mac and Cheese Fest continues (it’s on April 27, in case you’re wondering), K104 and Cabot Cheese host a pre-cheese party at The Galleria at Crystal Run to see who can eat the most of everyone’s favorite comfort dish. If you’d like to participate in the eating contest, shop up at 12:15 p.m. to register, then get ready to down a big bowl of the good stuff as you attempt to win the $100 gift certificate up for grabs at the end of it. If the competition isn’t for you, go get yourself a smaller sample of Mix n Mac’s top noodles while you’re there.
Ice Skate With the Easter Bunny

After you bring the kids to all the egg hunts happening in the Hudson Valley this weekend, treat them to an extra-special ice skate session with the Easter Bunny. During this one-day appearance, the hippity-hoppity rabbit will hit the ice at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center to skate with little ones. P.S. Free hot chocolate will be available for sweet sipping throughout the afternoon as well.
Zulu Time Grand Opening Party

Celebrate the return of outdoor dining season at West Point’s gorgeous rooftop bar when it reopens for the season this weekend. On Saturday, Zulu Time brings the party with tastings, raffles, and live music throughout the night. Add to that picture-perfect views and crisp spring weather and you have yourself the hottest happy hour event in the Hudson Valley.

A Mountain Brauhaus tradition, the festive dance features live music, authentic German cuisine, and plentiful beer and wine. As for the dance, the medieval ceremony features ribbons with hanging candies to tempt passersby. Throughout the evening, dancers must try to sneak a treat without getting caught by the “sheriff” assigned to watch the precious confections.
