Travel back in time to the American Revolution war era and visit Constitution Island. An historic American Landmark directly across from our nation’s oldest Military Academy West Point. Learn about the inspiration and ingenuity of the Great Chain, tales of the brave men who fought for our nation’s independence and finally learn about the Warner sisters and their widowed father who destined to live the rest of their lives on the Island. Interact with nature…

For our outdoor thrill seekers, take a breathtaking 3.2-mile hike to the top of Breakneck Ridge. Embrace the spectacular view of the Hudson River and highlands below. The trail begins at sea level and elevates to 1,100 feet in less than three-quarters of a mile, which is steeper than any hiking trail in the Catskill Region. Travel East to the other side of the County to Patterson, NY and see two wonderful locations: the 800 acres Michael Ciaiola Conservation Area or the brilliant Great Swamp, the largest freshwater wetlands in the state. Both unique habitats inhabit various songbirds and woodland creatures. In Michael Ciaiola, explore the up to six-mile family-friendly trail loop, while in the Great Swamp paddle through the watersheds and interact with a beaver or two.
