Turning 30: Brand-new fun and excitement at Heritage Financial Park for 30th season of Hudson Valley Renegades Baseball

By: Joe Vasile

For the last 30 years, families throughout the Hudson Valley have known that the place to go during the summer for affordable fun is Hudson Valley Renegades baseball games. Not only are the Renegades renowned throughout Minor League Baseball for their world-class game entertainment and exciting brand of professional baseball as an affiliate of the 27-time World Series champion New York Yankees, but they continue to be a great value for a fun night out.

As the team celebrates its 30th anniversary season in 2024, there are so many new and exciting ways to experience Renegades baseball at Heritage Financial Park. Returning fans will notice many new and exciting changes to the ballpark, which has recently completed the biggest transformation in its 30-year history.

The Renegades, Dutchess County, and Diamond Baseball Holdings have recently completed a multi-year, multi-phase ballpark transformation project which has radically changed the look and feel of the ballpark for both fans and players. Due to this project, we now have one of the premier facilities in the country for baseball and fun in our community.

“It is our goal to have the Renegades serve as a beacon of the Hudson Valley by creating magical experiences,” said Zach Betkowski, General Manager of the Renegades. “This year we are providing all-new and exciting ways to create life-long memories for our entire community.”

The most notable new feature for 2024 is the WMCHealth Club Lounge down the left field line. Serving as an upscale, all-inclusive area featuring an all-you-can-eat buffet prepared by an exclusive chef, the WMCHealth Club Lounge is the best spot in Minor League Baseball to enjoy a game. The Club Lounge also has a state-of-the-art kitchen to prepare meals for all premium seating areas in the ballpark, which will elevate the concessions offerings to all fans.

The Renegades are offering Season Club Memberships and Group Outings in the WMCHealth Club Lounge, and are also selling a limited number of single-game club access passes. You can find more information on the WMCHealth Club Lounge and submit an interest form at www.hvrenegades.com/premium.

The Club Lounge is not just limited to use during games, but will host public events and can be reserved for private events on non-gamedays and throughout the offseason. The WMCHealth Club Lounge has already hosted weddings, meetings, and private parties with several more booked in the coming months.

Adjacent to the new Club Lounge is the Bud Light Party Deck, a new private area for groups of 75-200 to gather and enjoy a Renegades game in a unique atmosphere. Just in front of the Rooftop Party Deck are the Mosquito Joe Outfield Terrace and Drink Rail, shared group spaces for smaller groups that allow you to get close to the action down the left field line.

“These new areas provide unique opportunities that we have never had before to our fans to enjoy a game,” said Betkowski. “The response has been tremendous from those who have experienced games and events in these areas so far.”

These new areas are just a small sliver of what the Renegades have planned for the Summer of 2024. In addition to fireworks after every Friday night game and giveaways every Tuesday and Saturday night, the Renegades have plenty of off-the-wall fun which characterizes Minor League Baseball planned at the ballpark. A highlight of the promo schedule is in July when they will be hosting a wedding for their lovable mascots, Rascal and Rosie, who will tie the knot in a special ceremony after a year-long courtship.

Finally, the Renegades have made international headlines in 2024 already as they are hosting Bhutan Night on Tuesday, Aug. 20. The Renegades have worked with the Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association to bring athletes from the Kingdom of Bhutan for a baseball and cultural enrichment trip to New York. In addition to an instructional clinic and being the guests of honor at a Renegades game, the group will tour the Hudson Valley and New York City on their trip.

Fundraising efforts are underway for the trip, and you can visit www.hvrenegades.com/bhutan for more information and to view auction items.

With so many new and exciting things to enjoy at the ballpark, and with tickets starting at just $6, the 2024 season of Renegades baseball is shaping up to be the best yet.
