Education: Planning Now for Future Success

[vc_text_separator title=”Partner Content”]

Although a new year is launching within an uncertain environment, new education trends, programs, and experiences continue to arm Hudson Valley students with new tools, enriched perspectives, and better preparation for life after school. And, current students aren’t the only ones to benefit. The innovative approaches also help schools distinguish themselves while competing for future students.

There is a distinct difference between the new normal and new and normal. The Dutchess Day School community has always been characterized by an indefatigable positive spirit, selfless volunteerism, and a rare esprit de corps. In good times, those qualities are easy to keep; the true test is if it can be done when times are difficult. Though we are wearing masks and social distancing, in-person classes are happening! Four-square still has a waiting line to enter the fray, science labs are hands-on, reading groups are using their imaginations, and our musical performances continue to spread memorable magic. Our children are actively engaged in school every day continuing to build their foundation for their future success.

Oakwood Friends School has a 224-year tradition of leaning into uncertainty, building community, and supporting a diverse population,” says Head of School Chad Cianfrani. “This fall we welcomed both day and boarding students for full-time, in-person classes. Oakwood’s faculty and families proved creative, thoughtful, nimble, and resilient.  A true community of learners, Oakwood challenges students to push themselves academically and actively engage in meaningful social change. Find out more online, or reach out to me directly, Head of School Chad Cianfrani.”
