What makes Darrow School special?Â
There is something remarkable about the Darrow School. Perhaps our historic Shaker Heritage or our location nestled between the Berkshire Mountains and the Hudson Valley. Or maybe, it’s our community of individuals where all students belong. Darrow serves diverse backgrounds and abilities, building on individuals’ talents and interests to deepen thinking with specialized programs which explore the creative spaces where ideas intersect, and solutions emerge. Our Active Curriculum rooted in the liberal arts and sciences are individually focused and combine innovative classroom instruction with project-based learning and environmental consciousness to educate future generations of global citizens who understand the wider world—and their place in it.

How is Oakwood Friends School teaching students to think critically and inclusively?
Engaging within a diverse and inclusive community, Oakwood students view the world through the lens of classmates from several countries, cultures, religions, orientations, and backgrounds. Â Students collaborate academically and are challenged to routinely step outside their comfort zone. When a math student discovers ceramics, a music major discovers chemistry, or a philosophy student discovers the stage, they develop a curiosity and the intellectual stamina necessary in our rapidly evolving and increasingly inter-connected society.
