At the Intersection of Locally Grown Produce, Exquisite Cuisine, and Celebrations

Farmer, Founder, and Father (not in that order), Guy Jones started farming in the Hudson Valley in the early eighties, selling vegetables at local farmers’ markets and in New York City at the Union Square Greenmarket. The farm cultivated a diverse array of specialty organic produce, some of which were novel at the time — even for the emerging New York restaurant industry — piquing the interest of rising chefs and restaurateurs.

As news of the farm’s offerings circulated, additional chefs expressed interest in having the farm grow unique crops from rare, imported seeds that were difficult to source. Consequently, Blooming Hill Farm established a small yet dedicated clientele of wholesale customers and began delivering produce weekly to restaurants throughout New York City and its neighboring areas.

Although cultivating and foraging a wide variety of produce across its few hundred acres in the lower Hudson Valley has remained its core mission, Blooming Hill Farm has gained greater recognition in the area for its onsite amenities. In addition to supplying wholesale produce and participating in farmer’s markets, the farm now features a year-round farmstand, restaurant, and event space run by Guy’s sons.

The Restaurant at Blooming Hill

Using the convenient booking tool on their website, guests can easily reserve their spot at a table for brunch or dinner. Featuring a true farm-to-table menu with an Italian slant, Blooming Hill Farm offers unique and interesting seasonal ingredients throughout the year. Patrons can enjoy thoughtfully composed and flavorful dishes, including housemade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, vegetable-forward accompaniments, and locally sourced meat and fish entrées. Weekly menu updates featuring the best of its seasonal produce allow guests to anticipate an exciting culinary experience even on return visits.

Throughout the year, The Restaurant at Blooming Hill hosts exceptional Seasonal Farm Dinners which have gained notoriety in the area. These events are ticketed and open to the public, mainly advertised on their mailing list and social media pages. Farm Dinners allow guests to enjoy a cocktail hour in the barn featuring passed wood-fired pizzas and hor d’oeuvres followed by a seated dinner. The farm’s own culinary team and, from time to time, a notable guest chef will curate and prepare a 4-5 course tasting menu with beverage and wine pairings highlighting the local, seasonal produce.

During the farm’s event season (May-October), restaurant reservations are available for dinner on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8:30 pm and brunch on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm. In the offseason (Nov-April) reservations are available for dinner Wednesday through Sunday and Friday to Sunday for brunch.

The Farmstand and Store

The Farmstand & Store at Blooming Hill provides a unique experience for brunch guests to shop the very same produce available on the restaurant menu. In addition to fresh produce, the market offers a selection of high-quality, locally sourced dry goods, crafts, culinary tools, and apparel. The market is open during brunch hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (from 10 am to 2 pm, year-round) at 1251 Route 208, Monroe, NY 10950.

From May to October, Blooming Hill is vibrant and lively, hosting larger private events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, and birthday celebrations. Whether you are planning a corporate retreat or a large birthday gathering, the venue is versatile enough to host events marked by any number of milestones. Blooming Hill offers the option to hold private events throughout the year, complete with tailored food and beverage menus that cater to each season. In the spring, summer, and fall, the farm can accommodate larger outdoor events up to 200 guests, while in the winter, the upper limit is closer to 70 people in the restaurant’s indoor space.

Consider reserving a Cocktail Hour & Dinner, where your guests will enjoy an authentic farm-to-table experience with thoughtfully curated hors d’oeuvres, specialty cocktails, and family-style dinner, all using the farm’s own locally grown seasonal produce. This style of event is particularly suited for rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, and bridal or baby showers.
