Celebrate St. Patty’s Day with the Right Foods

Are you ready for St. Patrick’s Day on Tuesday, March 17? The big day honors the patron saint who brought Christianity to Ireland in the 5th Century. Today, St. Patty’s celebrations are more about dressing up and drinking beer than celebrating the religion. Most people may not fancy themselves in green suits with clovers, shamrocks or leprechauns. Regardless, many folks in Hudson have no trouble celebrating the holiday with new and traditional Irish foods, ranging from wonderful CBD treats to green brew.

1. CBD Infused Irish Potatoes

For centuries, men and women around the world have celebrated St. Patty’s Day with giant festivals, noisy parades and family get-togethers. A person can eat up old-fashioned Irish fare, such as Irish Potatoes. Only these days, it has become quite trendy to infuse a little cannabidiol into the vegetable with a powerful tincture of CBD. Individuals can quickly and safely relax, as the best CBD products are known for managing stress. In other words, the top CBD oil tinctures mix with Irish potatoes to help St. Patrick’s Day celebrations last throughout the night. Of course, you can always save plenty of time and money.

2. Shepherd’s Pie

What began as an Irish tradition has morphed into an American one. Men and women across the nation love eating their scrumptious shepherd’s pie on St. Patrick’s Day. Also known as cottage pie, the dish is made of meat topped with mashed potato. Hundreds of years ago, shepherd’s pie was used to get rid of leftover meat in the kitchen. In the 21st Century, one can pick and choose from a wide variety of dishes. For instance, today’s Cumberland pie is made with either beef or lamb with cheese and breadcrumbs on top. Apples are included in the Netherlands’ shepherd pies, and the British fill their fish pies with seafood. Yikes!

3. Corned Beef and Cabbage

Irishmen and women have been enjoying corned beef and cabbage since the 19th Century. The wholesome and nutritious dish is made of seasoned brisket with boiled cabbage. People also add veggies, like potatoes and carrots. Some even like the addition of onions. The strong taste of the meat can be compared to bacon. Once prepared, corned beef and cabbage is tender with a bit of a salty flavor. Shoppers can pick up everything they need to make it at the grocery store. They even sell ready-to-cook corned beef and cabbage, mmmm.

4. Green Stout Beer

Last but certainly not least is good ol’ stout beer, such as Guinness, Murphy’s, Samuel Adams and Sierra Nevada. Only this time of the year, you get to add a bit of green coloring to the drink. Rather than diving into the dark side, a majority of stouts don’t contain much alcohol. Thanks to roasted barley, they are known to be black with different flavors, including expresso, chocolate and licorice. Thanks to its low alcohol, Irish stouts are perfect for a late night celebration.

Regardless what type of green beer you choose to enjoy on St. Patty’s Day, you can always drop a powerful CBD tincture into your stout brew. You too can feel the luck of the Irish.
