There’s no better place for welcoming fall than the Hudson Valley, and this weekend, we’re celebrating with a variety of fests that’ll keep you laughing, stomping, and turning pages well into the new season.
Robibero Winery Grape Stomping Fest, New Paltz
Don’t bother getting a pedicure for this wild wine event. Saturday and Sunday, roll up your jeans and jump into a barrel of juicy, ripe reds at this Valley vineyard. Yes, it’s messy, so come prepared with a towel or two. Once you’re clean and dry, grab a glass of caramel apple sangria and stroll through Robibero’s 42 acres of grape vines and green space, then end the day cozying up by the bonfire.
Steve-O at Levity Live, West Nyack
Once-upon-a-time, you may have seen this MTV Jackass daredevil snorting wasabi or flying through the air in a horse poo-filled Porta-Potty. These days, you can catch him in a Nyack comedy club for a standup act like no other. Steve-O, aka Stephen Glover, will be performing six shows this weekend along with fellow comedian Richie Redding.
Brick Alley Block Party, Haverstraw
Celebrating Garner Art Center’s fall exhibition opening, the party is set within gallery’s 8,000-square-foot warehouse, a group of 28 19th century buildings used as artist studio spaces, a creekside sculpture trail, and a craft brewery. Grab a draught beer from Industrial arts Brewing Company, and head to the outdoor brick alleyway for a starlit concert, featuring a sundown electro set by Woodstock’s own DJ Photay.
Spirit of Beacon Day, Beacon
This annual fest and parade will meander down Beacon’s Main Street on Sunday, featuring large-scale floats, music, and marchers. Floats will be judged for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place awards based on this year’s theme, “Come Celebrate the Tastes of Beacon.” While the parade starts at 1 pm, the event kicks off at 11 am with vendor booths, raffles, and plenty of community comraderie.
