What: In celebration of Star Trek’s 50th anniversary, this convention invites old-school “Trekkies” and young fans who grew up with newer J.J. Abrams reboots. Stop by this weekend for collectible memorabilia, science fiction finds, and even celebrity sightings.

Friends of the Pleasant Valley Library Fall Book Sale
What: Book worms, rejoice. Nearly 25,000 books, CDs, and DVDs will be available for purchase all weekend long, with a $5 bag fill-up sale on Sunday until 2 p.m. (after which, books are free!).

What: Celebrate food and family at this kid-friendly cake decorating affair (cupcakes for those under 12). Baby bakers will learn decorating skills, like working with fondant and creating realistic renditions of traditional Thanksgiving foods.

What: Grab a flashlight and take a guided tour through the park’s winding trails and terrain under a nearly full Beaver Moon. Following the two-mile stroll, huddle up with some hot chocolate inside.

What: We’ve all seen the Broadway stand-out featuring a masked ghost and his operatic muse, but give her a pair of cowboy boots, and you’ve got a hilarious twist on this age-old classic. View multiple showings all this weekend or next (or both!).
