- Scenic Hudson, the Poughkeepsie-based land preservation and environmental group, was recently one of 39 organizations across the nation to be awarded accreditation status by an independent commission of the Land Trust Alliance. “We’re honored that our 45-year track record in saving land and creating parks up and down the river has received this ‘gold seal’ of credibility and professionalism,” says President Ned Sullivan.
- Elant at Wappingers Falls, a not-for-profit nursing home, was invited to speak at the annual Rotary International Day at the United Nations last month, after Director of Social Work Louise Quartuccio created the nation’s first Elderact club last year. The club provides opportunities for the eldery and Elant residents to volunteer and give back to the community.
