Didn’t think it could get any brighter? The Gay family, who has held the Guinness World Record for most lights on a residential property since 2014, continues to delight each holiday season and this year is no exception. Actually, the show is greater than ever!
A family tradition that began in 1995 — with a modest 600 lights — has turned into a full fledge family production and holds tight on that world record title. Timothy and Grace Gay along with their three children have unveiled the biggest (and most expensive) element ever of their ERDAJT Holiday Light Display, an enormous sphere situated at the center of the show.
It is the perfect center piece suspended over the pond. A giant constructed spherical wonder measuring a 10 foot diameter encompassed with hundreds of lights and endless possibilities. “There are all kinds of interesting light chases you can do with this,” explains Timothy Gay.
Aside from being the largest and most costly piece in their display, “The new spherical element uses the most light controllers of anything we’ve created thus far,” shares Gay. “That means it will have 216 individually controlled computer channels on it and it uses RGB LED’s, which means it can be any color at any time.”
As of this year the ERDAJT Holiday Light Display has 555,000 lights, 1,550 strobes, and 259 choreographed songs. It’s fair to say even Clark Griswold of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation would give his stamp of approval.
Catch it before the lights go out, the last show is December 28th. For more information and the nightly show schedule visit their website at www.erdajt.com.
