America’s biggest bookseller honors one of America’s smallest publishers

In September, Barnes & Noble presented publisher Black Dome Press of Hensonville, Greene County, with its first annual “Focus on New York Award for Outstanding Regional Literature” during a ceremony at the bookseller’s Kingston store. With a list of titles that runs the gamut from architecture to folklore, colonialism to kayaking — a fair number of which have been featured in these pages over the years — Black Dome was cited for its “consistent support” of local authors and “ongoing commitment” to the Valley region.
