April showers bring May flowers. Unfortunately, they also bring wet sidewalks, muddy yards, and frizzy hair! Don’t let this less-than-ideal spring weather prevent you from making a style statement. All you need are a few key accessories to look good and stay dry during the rainy season:
A Trench Coat
Rainy days induce the urge to curl up in your comfiest cardigan and never leave the house. Yet as much as you may want it to be, your cozy sweater is probably not stylish or appropriate for a day around town. Instead, opt for a classic trench coat in black or tan. You’ll ooze Burberry glamour and look polished as you dash off to work in the next spring storm.
A Fun Umbrella
While a black umbrella may be functional, it’s far from being a contender for trendiest accessory. Luckily, there are so many cool and quirky designs on the market now that it’s easy to switch it up from boring black. Try looking for one with a print on the underside, or a clear one with designs on the rim. Even a swap to a black-and-white polka dots would be a nice update.

Rain Boots
Choosing the right shoes to wear when it’s pouring outside can be a challenge. Luckily, rain boots, or Wellingtons, are the perfect solution. Wellies keep your feet dry even when you step in the muddiest puddle or venture out in the middle of a storm. Plus, they come in a variety of prints and styles, so there’s something out there for everyone.
A Scarf
The problem with springtime drizzle is that it leads to humid, uncomfortable days. It can be hard to find a way to feel cozy without overheating. This is where scarves come in. A light scarf can keep the rainy chill away without bundling you up too much. Aim for one that’s wider and made from a light, silky material. That way, you can achieve that perfectly wrapped look and still stay cool. As a bonus, scarves look amazing with trench coats!
