On one very special afternoon in December, 16 of the most talented women in the Hudson Valley made their way to Wappingers Falls. The occasion? Our 2019 Women in Business Awards, of course. Alongside more than 300 of their closest friends, colleagues, and acquaintances, they celebrated the lasting achievements in their respective careers during a celebratory luncheon and awards ceremony at the Villa Borghese.
During the December 5 event, digital media executive and best-selling author Fran Hauser shared her secrets to success over a fireside chat with Impact PR & Communications founder (and 2018 Women in Business nominee) Filomena Fanelli. Now a startup investor, Hauser wrote The Myth of the Nice Girl to deconstruct the negative perception surrounding “niceness” for women in business. New York State Senator Sue Serino also stepped up to the podium to applaud the honorees for their meaningful contributions to the region.
At the end of the afternoon, conversations buzzed, laughter rang through the air, and more than a few business cards changed hands as new connections formed in the Hudson Valley.
